Dr. PAKDEMİRLİ described the successes achieved in the agricultural sector by Turkey. He said “Today is the driving force of Europe with over 3 million agricultural enterprises, 5 million agricultural employments, 38 million hectares of agricultural land, 52.2 billion dollars of agricultural revenue and 17 billion dollars of agricultural exports. We are the first in agricultural revenue in Europe and seventh in the world. Turkey is at a good point in agriculture and it is a country that makes good use of its resources. We would like to share this success with Azerbaijan.”

Minister PAKDEMİRLİ emphasized that the commercial relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan must enter a new period and continued to say “Our bilateral trade volume is 1.7 billion dollars. The target set by our Presidents, on the other hand, is 15 billion dollars. We are way behind this target. Our agricultural trade volume is 130 billion dollars. The share of the agriculture in general trade is 8 percent; Azerbaijan’s agricultural import is 1.3 billion dollars whereas Turkey’s agricultural import is 12 billion dollars. Whatever we buy or sell in our agricultural trade, we must first do it with each other.”

Within the scope of his activities, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Bekir PAKDEMİRLİ and his counterpart İnam KERİMOV visited TİKA Baku Coordinatorship and Yunus Emre Baku Turkish Culture Center.
