Turkey-Bosnia Herzegovina Agricultural Business Forum that was held on 26 October 2017 in the parliament building in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia Herzegovina, which the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Ahmet Eşref FAKIBABA, was attended by our President Kamil ÖZCAN as the representative of Cattle Breeders’ Association of Turkey (CBAT).
Kamil ÖZCAN summarized the historical processes of CBAT and its past and present activities as panelist and said: “I would like to express that we are ready as CBAT for cooperation and contribution for incentivizing and supporting small scale family type enterprises living the country in the fields of animal husbandry which provide product option with high added value in addition to vegetal production. I presume that taking part in the cattle raising leg of your projects for increasing rural welfare in Bosnia Herzegovina, where 60% of the population lives in the countryside, and working together will be beneficial for both countries”.
In his opening speech Minister of Food, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Ahmet Eşref FAKIBABA emphasized that he believed the organized agricultural business forum will establish a useful communication and commercial network between the business people of the two countries and said “The discussions that our business people will have today are of importance regarding establishment of the future of both the commerce and the bilateral dialogues. In this context, I believe that this forum will bring a long term and sustainable breath to the agricultural cooperation and commerce of the two countries”.
FAKIBABA indicated that they have been organizing agricultural business forums under the coordination of the ministry for the last one year with the countries that they have commercial proximity and that they want to develop the mutual commercial ties and that they aim to develop the agricultural and commercial volume as well as cooperation possibilities.
Bosnia Herzegovina Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mirko SAROVİC stated that Bosnia Herzegovina’s foreign trade balance with Turkey is improving every year and Turkey is the country that they export the most amount of agricultural products in 2016.
SAROVİC expressed his contentment from the present economic cooperation with Turkey and added that with the improvement of investment opportunities in the country, more Turkish investors will come to Bosnia Herzegovina.
